ABSTRACT

The chapter focuses on the characteristics of the relationship between mental health and psychopathology and the influence of modern technologies. It deals with the topic of attachment disorders from a medical and psychological perspective, in the context of changes resulting from the implementation of modern information and communication technologies (ICT) in human life. This chapter will discuss the possible impact of modern technologies on the emergence and maintenance of common mental disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictions and psychological crises. The relationship between the pattern of attachment and the development of symptoms related to the use of modern technologies such as harmful use of the Internet, video games, streaming platforms and cyberbullying will also be presented.
