ABSTRACT

In this concluding chapter of the handbook, the authors reflect once more on the entire process of doing practical theological research and on the main goal of the handbook: to help the reader ask the right questions and find answers in order to make reasoned choices in each phase of the research process. This chapter also addresses some limitations of the handbook. Furthermore, the authors argue that the research process is both a structured step-by-step process, as presented in this handbook, and a process that seems to be a mess – a mess, because of the complexity of phenomena being studied in practical theological research and the many, sometimes unexpected, parameters.
