ABSTRACT
How to do good quality practical theological research? This introductory chapter sketches the way in which this handbook will discuss that practical question. The chapter positions Practical Theology as an academic endeavor. The outline of the book is presented here, and through that, the main structure of the book, namely eight steps in designing a research study in Practical Theology, is introduced. In addition, the authors briefly describe their positionalities: where are they as authors of this handbook located: biographically, geographically, and theologically?
