ABSTRACT
discusses the philosophy and methodology of action research. In particular, it characterises action research, discusses its roots and differentiates the most important concepts and typologies. Furthermore, the emancipatory role of action research in the creation and use of knowledge is highlighted. The basis of this chapter is an analysis based on a literature review on action research and cooperation between universities and organisations based on the use of this approach.
