ABSTRACT
This chapter begins by briefly introducing value as a foundational aspect of sports’ business models. Next the basic characteristics and categories of value and its importance to the organization are discussed. Subsequently different aspects of the business model concept are presented and the various definitional approaches to the issue were explained. The last part of the chapter presents the implications of trends for changes in the behavior of the organization and its business model, including those caused by the recession and current trends: innovation and digitization.
