ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I argue the queer time of Hermione's pregnancy structures The Winter's Tale—like the play, Hermione's pregnancy is characterized by disruptions and interruptions of time. She is spread of late into goodly bulk (2.1.26–7), delivered before her time (2.2.31), and, I argue, slides into a homoerotic, sixteen-year lying-in ceremony before being reunited with her daughter, Perdita, at the play's end.
