ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an introduction to instruments, channels, and publications employed in financial communication and investor relations, such as annual reports, ad-hoc announcements, conference calls, roadshows and one-on-one meetings, capital market days, and the annual general meeting. It touches upon both the role of the executive and supervisory board in the context of these events and publications. The chapter also addresses online tools and social media as currently employed in financial communication and investor relations. It distinguishes mandatory from voluntary instruments and explains the importance of live communication and dialogue in financial communication.
