ABSTRACT
Grievances may emerge and individuals may feel strongly about the need to become active, but end up remaining idle nevertheless. A minority of those who experience and perform grievances will actually mobilise, whether in the form of non-violent or violent activism. In this regard, the chapter will discuss contextual factors (places and people), and the importance of biographic availability, which have been found to be relevant for our understanding of PIM and PIV.
