ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces and describes the five key components of the conceptual model, which explain differences in local approaches to sustainable urban development in the cities under investigation. Using this model, we argue that it is possible to develop pathways for how global visions such as the Paris Climate Agreement, the 2030 Agenda, and the New Urban Agenda can be pursued in remote regions, of which the European Arctic is one example.
