ABSTRACT

After the first wave of COVID-19, several countries started an enquiry into possible reasons for the disproportionate impacts of the pandemic on older adults. The epilogue provides a glimpse of how governments are beginning to think about imminent changes in healthcare infrastructure and delivery, and about more integrated, less divisive measures to restructure care facilities. The chapter brings forth information about new international responses to older care and pandemic management, including issues related to vaccine mandates. It also provides a counterbalancing view point about issues raised throughout the book so as to inject flexibility and openness of interpretation and meanings, and to weave an understanding of the ageing scenario both within and outside the pandemic context.
