ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces a variety of practices for citizens’ will-formation and decision-making. Some practices are completely novel, for example, the Multi-Issue Referendum or the randomly selected chamber of parliament. Other practices are well-known in representative democracies, but ‘reshaped’ to make them more suitable for Thriving Democracies. The chapter discusses various options, advantages and disadvantages in order to support communities in their search for how to govern themselves. It helps communities to identify practices that fit best within their contexts, preferences, needs and resources.
