Introduction

This introduction begins with a brief outline of the role the WGC has played in mainstreaming gender into the UNFCCC while demonstrating the lack of attention paid to these actions, both in academia and in politics. The chapter then offers some background to the UNFCCC in order to situate the reader with key terminology and processes. Finally, the chapter closes with an outline of the argument as it unfolds across the following chapters.
