ABSTRACT
This final chapter revisits the global picture of shadow education in order to show first what Middle East countries can learn from other parts of the world, and second what analysis of Middle East patterns contributes to wider understanding11. Included in this commentary are further remarks about changing roles of the state in education systems and about the forces of privatisation. The chapter, with policy issues in mind, also addresses questions of balance in ways to move forward.
