ABSTRACT
This chapter makes a longue durée analysis and resumé of the resistance history of Burma/Myanmar. The historical analysis begins before WWII and ends in 2007 when the Saffron Uprising began. The various experiences gained from previous civil resistance campaigns have been discussed, and in particular the experiences from the ABC resistance practices applied in the Burma/Myanmar context have been examined. Also, the influence on the civil resistance from the armed resistance movements in the country have been analysed.
