ABSTRACT
Throughout history, women’s collective action has instigated broad human rights expansions. Indeed, for the last two centuries, women’s movements have been forming constantly throughout the world and effecting seismic change on each issue they address. This chapter explores both the historic women’s movements, dating back to 195 BC with the Female Fury at the Forum, as well and modern-day, revolutionary, women-led movements that the Global Women’s Funding Movement supports including the Kandakas, Black Lives Matter, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and the Green Wave.
