ABSTRACT
One of the most important circumstances strongly verifying the efficiency of risk management systems and exposing their numerous imperfections is crisis situations. With regard to both risk management systems and risk management maturity models, crisis situations do not remain neutral, often necessitating the redefinition and reconstruction of either of them. Moreover, crises of significant scope, especially such as the COVID-19 pandemic (difficult to foresee, ignored or unpreventable) generate increased demand for the measurement and assessment of risk management maturity, taking into account the conditions imposed by a given situation. The results of the research confirmed that the proposed new multidimensional model of risk management maturity assessment could be applied in both normal business conditions and crisis situations. It can also be used in all types of enterprises, irrespective of any sectoral or geographical limitations.
