ABSTRACT
The types of robots that attract extensive attention are sex robots. This chapter discusses the potential benefits and risks associated with sex robots. The rationale for banning sex robots, which is the main postulate of the Campaign Against Sex Robots, is discussed. There is focus on the specific cases of sex robots for which a ban or criminalization could have a different rationale than similar legislative decisions regarding sex robots in general, namely childlike sex robots and rape robots. There is also focus on the sexual abuse of humanoid robots. The author claims that acts made in public may already fall into provisions that protect public decency.
