ABSTRACT
The conclusion summarises the practical takeaways from each chapter to provide a guide for everyday activists. It combines recommendations from the people interviewed for the book with findings from other research. It synthesises strategies for how to overcome the paralysis of feeling overwhelmed, explore underlying motivations, work toward self-actualisation, bring others along on the journey, and deal with difficult people. It also summarises how to undertake everyday evaluation so activists can gauge whether they are making a difference and re-emphasises the most important strategies around prioritising self-care. This final chapter concludes with our suggestions for navigating a path forward including adopting a learning mindset, enhancing listening skills, developing self-awareness, and slowing down.
