ABSTRACT

This lexicon introduces the key terms pivotal to this book. While the concepts included in this lexicon are further expanded and contextualized in various chapters, these brief definitions provide an overview of their conceptual, theoretical, and technical lineages. These revised concepts also underpin a new framework for museums to harness deep fake technologies. Readers can either consult this lexicon as an introduction to the book or return to read these definitions as they are introduced in bold type throughout the volume. By cross-referencing ideas in relation to their various contexts and settings, this lexicon offers a transversal understanding of the thinking and practices emerging at the nexus of experimental museology and in a post-digital age.
