ABSTRACT
In this chapter I use the case of Sweden to analyse how digitalisation has impacted on the day-to-day functioning of courts and how various digital technologies are shaping the courts in different ways. Sweden has a long tradition of public access to legal documents and proceedings, which is considered a cornerstone of Swedish democracy. I begin by presenting an overview of the Swedish context before highlighting recent trials where video links were used and, indeed, misused, before moving on to a deep dive into live blogging and how it is shaping understandings of trials and the practices of legal professionals and journalists.
