ABSTRACT
This chapter overviews the period of the IWG Secretariat, 2006–2010, which was hosted by Australia, with its World Conference taking place in Sydney in 2010. The Secretariat’s co-Chair was Johanna Adriaanse, an academic formerly from the Netherlands who faced numerous challenges with changes in its membership midway through the term and some complex relationships with domestic and international partners. This term also witnessed improved collaborative working, particularly with the United Nations, and Memorandums of Understanding signed with multiple international partners. The legacy of the Secretariat was the Sydney Scoreboard to monitor the number of women in leadership positions in sport.
