ABSTRACT

From 2018 to 2002, the IWG Secretariat was hosted by New Zealand, who led the network through the period of the global Covid-19 pandemic and held the first IWG hybrid World Conference in Auckland 2002. The local co-Chair was Raewyn Lovett, and the Secretary General was Rachel Froggatt, who was interviewed for this book. The local host was a relatively new organisation, Women in Sport Aotearoa (WISPA), with significant government support, particularly to help women and sport receive the resources needed during the pandemic, while New Zealand was committed to hosting three other major sports events. The legacy of the IWG New Zealand Secretariat included a digital Insight Hub, a Call to Action, and a separate Indigenous Statement.
