ABSTRACT
As the IWG approached its 30th anniversary since its establishment in the UK in 1994, it returned to a former host country for the first time with its Secretariat, 2022–2026, based in the UK. The local co-Chair was Annamarie Phelps with Secretary General Lisa O’Keefe, both of whom were interviewed for this book. The IWG UK host organisation is the Sport and Recreation Alliance, with the main funding from Sport England and UK Sport. During the first two years of hosting, the IWG UK developed a Women’s Sport Investment Accelerator programme, launched the Anita White Fund, and is partnering with UNESCO on their Fit For Life programme. The IWG UK World Conference will be held in Birmingham, 2026.
