ABSTRACT
This chapter is a direct reference to the key topic of analyses relating to the quality of urban life. It defines the essence of the quality of life and presents the methods of measuring it. Then, the factors that determine the quality of life were characterized, taking into account their multidimensionality, including aspects such as demography, economy, technology, society and environment. In this context, the standard for measuring the quality of life is also described: ISO 37120:2018 Sustainable cities and communities – Indicators for city services and quality of life. The conclusion formulates the problems and challenges of improving the quality of life in modern cities, defining a research gap in improving the quality of life in a Smart City.
