ABSTRACT

In this chapter, stories about and perspectives on PE are provided through the lens of Chelsey Baker. Chelsey Baker, a teacher at the time of writing this chapter, described what it was like having spinal muscular atrophy and being in PE class while growing up. At the end of the chapter, Chelsey reflected on these PE experiences, but this time, through the lens of a trained educator and urged all PE teachers to create meaningful activities for students with disabilities. Readers will have opportunities to learn from the experiences of the author and will be able to reflect on these experiences as they relate to the readers’ future teaching careers.
