ABSTRACT
This chapter is based upon what is known as inclusive research: four women with intellectual disabilities were brought into the research project as full participants, in order to address Bíbí's autobiography on the basis of their own life experience. An opportunity was gained to examine Bíbí's autobiography from a new perspective: that of people who have in a sense been in the same position as Bíbí was throughout her life – although the difference between Bíbí's time and that of the participants is great. This contemporary viewpoint gave the project a new approach – an opportunity to study Bíbí in an entirely new and exciting way.
