ABSTRACT
In this concluding chapter, the different threads are drawn together, and the benefits gained from this combination of disability studies with the methods of microhistory are accounted for. One of the principal objectives of this study was to develop the relationship between the two disciplines – critical disability studies and the methods of microhistory – and demonstrate how they can work together in an accessible manner. Through this rendezvous of the two approaches, it is possible to delve far deeper into the history of people with disabilities. Traditional text documents were thus not all that was on this project's agenda; all possible connections with Bíbí's life, which were likely to throw light on her world, mindset, and circumstances, were explored. In the final analysis, Bíbí steps on to the stage of historical studies as a person with astonishing power to mold her own life within a societal space that did not expect a person like her to belong.
