ABSTRACT

This chapter provides concepts and practical advice for analyzing collected data and using them to make conclusions. Approaches are suggested for both descriptive and hypothesis-testing projects that draw upon the strong inference process and leverage the anchor charts described in Chapter 7. Visual approaches to interpreting graphed data are proposed as a primary approach for students. Statistical tests for interpreting data are also proposed for more advanced students. Throughout the chapter focus is placed on the importance of having humility in interpreting data, as well as on the importance of the place-based nature of conclusions.
