ABSTRACT
This chapter gives guidance on key practical considerations for integrating place-based inquiry outdoors into the classroom and during the school year. It helps teachers decide what topical scope and time duration are realistic, as well as how and when to schedule inquiry into the school year and how to link learning to the broader curriculum. It also provides specific guidance on estimating costs and selecting a safe, logistically feasible, and ethical place to work in. Last, it provides specific guidance for how to teach with student identity in mind and for using universal design principles to include all learners.
