ABSTRACT
After mentioning the dearth of work on civic virtue from both virtue ethical and interdisciplinary perspectives, the introduction offers a brief precise of each chapter in the volume. The chapters move from discussions of specific virtues, to roles for education in cultivating civic virtues, to the importance of civic virtues in public life. Topics are global in scope and include studies of civic virtues in the United States, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Australia, and Rwanda.
