ABSTRACT

The TRANSFORM case studies are contrasted with two cases of trying to introduce responsible research and innovation (RRI) into technoscientific environments. The Centre for Digital Life Norway aimed at transforming science-intensive biotechnology in Norway according to the principle of RRI realised though transdisciplinary collaboration. The Centre for Cancer Biomarkers, also in Norway, tried to integrate social sciences and humanities into its biomedical research. We show several similarities between the translations of RRI into these typical cases of high-tech technoscience, and the more low-tech contexts of TRANSFORM.
