ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses the question whether moral progress is feasible at all. It discusses the challenge from evolutionary conservatism, according to which moral progress is constrained by our evolved psychological capacities, and shows, on the basis of recent developments in cultural evolutionary theory, why evolutionary conservatism can be rejected.
