Using research well involves you shifting your focus from whether you use research to how well you use research. This chapter explains what using research well means, why it matters and how it can be complex. It then outlines what this book provides, what it is based on, and how it can help you in your setting. This chapter will help you to: (i) appreciate what using research well means and why it matters; and (ii) understand how this book can help you and your colleagues.
