ABSTRACT

Using research well involves you using your professional judgement and expertise to make sense of research and determine how it may be brought into your practice. Engaging with research thoughtfully is important because you need to be discerning about what you take from research into your practice and what adaptations are made for your context and purpose. This chapter will help you to: (i) use critical thinking skills to develop a deep understanding of the research you access; and (ii) be thoughtful in how you contextualise and translate its recommendations to your practice.
