ABSTRACT

The chapter presents the transcript of an interview conducted by this author with the playwright Mojisola Adebayo in 2017. The interview offers a retrospective into the playwright’s career, providing relevant insights into some of the productions analysed in this book as well as the current state of Black theatre in the UK. It also discusses important information about the methodologies employed in her devising processes, her thematic interests and the use of afro-queer diasporic aesthetics. Overall, the interview delves into her formal and thematic engagement with solidarity, central to her theatre projects that are closely aligned with theatre for social change.
