ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights some of the key findings proposed in this book through the theoretical concept of creative diasporic solidarity. It emphasises that theatre has the potential to develop more solidarity relations with the Other, prompting new ways of relationality and political change. The chapter also summarises some of the new thematic interests and formal innovations present in contemporary performances, which confirm a shift from earlier generations, and it also elaborates on the new directions in which the field of Black British theatre is moving, signalling possible lines for future research.
