ABSTRACT
How will we live together? Clearly, what we deem the remit of architecture and design has changed and continues to change. We know our current systems are not fit for purpose and that there is an urgent need for creativity, creative solutions and a commitment to re-skilling and lifelong learning. The pandemic has shown that the arts, culture, and design are interconnected with public health. This chapter explores the role of architecture and design as facilitators, guides and actors in and toward the future we want to see. To make a difference by design, we must build connections, knowledge, and movements. We must be resilient and patient and experiment and apply design research to this to do it well. It is time to put focus less on the achievements and more on the action.
