ABSTRACT

Stories have been used to convey meaning since the beginning of humanity. Yet, the writing style used in communication about research in the social sciences does not often draw on narrative form. Knowledge was passed from person to person through stories before words were written. This ancient form of communication through narrative form came before modern research was even conceptualised and remains embedded in our social fabric today. Wisdom is still conveyed through stories, which are used to educate and entertain people young and old around the world.
