ABSTRACT
This chapter locates The Research Mobilities project within the wider field of work on research mobilisation, including prior work on brokerage. It expands on four distinctive dimensions of the project: its focus on research mobilities in the wild; its specific focus on one topic, literacy; its relationship to the wider field of mobilities from which it drew inspiration; and a sociomaterial sensitivity that attended to work of more-than-human as well as human actors and how individuals, organisations, technologies and so on combine to propel or stall the movements of research. Some challenges and opportunities for investigating the movement of research as text are also considered.
