ABSTRACT

The introduction chapter sets the stage for the diverse contributions within this volume and introduces Linking Ages as a new research agenda. Starting to review how age matters within society and research. We continue by introducing ontological, theoretical, methodological, and empirical implications of a Linking Ages research style and how it differs from other established agendas, such as the life course or intergenerational approaches. Finally, the chapter concludes with an overview of the different chapters within this volume.
