ABSTRACT

The conclusion emphasizes the iterative and aspirational nature of applying QuantCrit into practice to codify how racism influences numbers and research methodologies. There are no set rules, and there never will be. QuantCrit is not a checklist, but rather a reorientation to the research process. Through this reorientation comes a commitment of reflexivity, of reading Critical Race Theory (CRT), and of understanding methods all while paying attention to the changing social dynamics. Not all projects will require a QuantCrit approach and existing methods can still be used to apply QuantCrit. When research questions necessitate, new methods should be developed. Particularly given the complexity in interconnected nature of confronting systemic racism, the future of progress likely lies in employing mixed methods and intersectional approaches. This work is aspirational, and healing from these systems occurs through the practice of making progress towards racial justice.
