ABSTRACT
The third EVE concept is narrative ethics, as outlined by Brian Treanor, who drew on a range of philosophers (mainly Martha Nussbaum, Alasdair MacIntyre, and Ronald Sandler). Treanor built his EVE concept on recognition of the role of narrative in conveying moral teachings as he considers it a powerful tool for moral education and achieving personal excellence. He focuses mainly on the proper selection of literature that would serve moral education in the best possible way. Chapter 6 describes the ethical concepts of the aforementioned authors (Section 6.1) and the understanding of virtues found in Treanor’s EVE concept (Section 6.2).
