ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the authors apply the sex ratio of potential first marriage partners and also improve upon this sex ratio by introducing the age-specific sex-ratio at birth in the baseline year, normalizing the total first marriage rate, and eliminating the tempo effect in first marriage frequencies. With these indicators, the authors project the extent of future marriage squeeze in China.
