ABSTRACT
This chapter is the methodological part of the publication. It provides a definition of the research subject, the purpose of the work, research questions, research hypotheses, characteristics of the analysed group, and characteristics of the research tools. The objective of the conducted analysis is to determine whether a manager’s preferred style of coping with stress is reflected in their conflict resolution strategies. The two tools used in the research are the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS) questionnaire by N.S. Endler and J.D.A. Parker (its Polish adaptation published in a collective study by J. Strelau and co-authors), and the Thomas-Kilmann Questionnaire (T-K Questionnaire) by K. Thomas and R. Kilmann. This research aims to broaden knowledge about how managers function. The obtained research findings on the links between strategies for coping with stress and behaviour styles in conflict situations are intended to assist with scientifically based recommendations for managerial practice.
