ABSTRACT
Arts-based methods in engineering ethics education (EEE) have great potential, but successful adoption of these methods requires a scholarly effort that can demonstrate both the value of the arts within ethics education and the effectiveness of arts-based methods in engineering education more generally. This chapter defines these approaches and then identifies the challenges that need to be addressed in implementing them and discusses lessons that can be learned from current practitioners and other fields. The authors describe entry points where educators and researchers from all disciplines can contribute to making arts and ethics a more comprehensive and interconnected part of the engineering curricula, thus creating a broader educational experience for tomorrow's engineers.
