ABSTRACT

Dr Gary Redding is a senior physician specializing in integrative medicine, approaching the end of a long, rewarding working life in several US towns. He remembers exhausting 36-hour work-shifts as a nephrology resident. Later working as an internist and living in the “fishbowl” of a small community, he sensed he was getting exhausted and disillusioned. He made a career change and then realized that he needed to have three big ‘C’s’ in his life: commitment, challenge, and control. He’s now a very happy man and offers his life lessons in resilience and setting boundaries.
