ABSTRACT

Crowdsourcing in science relies on an online collaborative process, involving specific stages and activities to achieve results. Coordinated crowdsourcing processes enhance results and cost-effectiveness. Implementing successful crowdsourcing initiatives requires repeatable management mechanisms, simultaneous coordination of interactions among dispersed co-creators, and careful platform selection. This chapter delves into efficient management of crowdsourcing in science. It begins by identifying and describing the processes involved in crowdsourcing in science, proposing an original model from a process-oriented viewpoint.
