ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 begins with a narrow focus on the discrete moment of denouement: When the curtain literally or figuratively gets pulled back as part of a revelation. Through doing so, I attend to how press conferences, magic tricks and other activities are oriented to and ‘done’ as revelations. In contrast to other chapters that are pitched in terms of verbs, this chapter takes a noun as its headline topic. The remaining chapters illustrate the arbitrary confines of narrowly attending to end culminations by unpacking revelation as a process: a process that makes possible but is itself made possible.
