ABSTRACT
In this introduction to Mieke Bal’s chapter, Davidsson provides an overview of the key topics of Bal’s text and the following discussion, teasing out and discussing Bal’s approach to art and her views on art as a powerful and potentially political and activist cultural form. Davidsson also considers the role of interpretation and intertextuality within the information sphere.
