ABSTRACT
The final chapter draws together the outcomes and insights gleaned from Liverpool’s hosting of ESC23, focusing on the multi-agency collaboration that underpinned its remarkable success. Through the insight of partners responsible for delivering ESC23, the chapter evaluates the strategic, tactical and operational approaches adopted by partner agencies, highlighting the significance of effective communication, shared goals, co-location and robust relationships. The chapter details the overwhelmingly positive reception of ESC23, both in terms of safety and visitor experience and explores how collective action and transformational leadership fostered trust and empowered stakeholders. It critically assesses the multi-agency approach, discusses challenges encountered and distils key lessons for future large-scale event management. Concluding with practical recommendations, this chapter provides a blueprint for collaborative working and legacy-building in complex large event environments.
